The Football world reacts to Nottingham Forest's SHOCK tweet
On Sunday Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 to Everton at Goodison Park in a match which could prove to be crucial in the relegation battle.
However, Forest had three clear calls for a penalty not given by referee Anthony Taylor, but more importantly by Stuart Atwell, who was on VAR.
The key factor here is that Atwell is a Luton fan and these decisions benefit his club massively in the relegation battle
Nottingham Forest were well aware of this as they proceeded to post this on their official twitter after the match:
Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept.

We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times.
NFFC will now consider its options.
Unsurprisingly the Premier League haven’t reacted too kindly to the tweet by Forest and now an investigation by the FA is taking place which could prove costly.
Forest are still yet to receive the outcome of their points deduction appeal and this set of events won’t reflect well on the club and their willingness to cooperate.
The Premier League was extremely disappointed to read the comments made by Nottingham Forest on social media yesterday, following its match against Everton.

We note The FA has confirmed it will be investigating the club’s statement. It is never appropriate to improperly question…
If Forest were to receive the additional deduction they were originally expecting, that could be enough to send them back down to the Championship and ironically keep Atwell's Luton up.
The footballing world has had time to react to this bizarre sequence of events but here are the highlights:
Mark Clattenburg, the former Premier League referee and current ‘referee analyst’ for Nottingham Forest was pressured by Gary Neville to leave his post after the statement by Forest, due to his relationship with PGMOL.

Gary Neville’s wishes were not fulfilled as the morning after the match, Mark Clattenburg released a full statement standing with Nottingham forest and questioning PGMOL’s decision to place Atwell on VAR for the match.

Alan Shearer used some unsavoury words on his podcast with Micah Richards and Gary Lineker, ‘The Rest is Football’, labelling the decision to make the post by Nottingham Forest as “utterly embarrassing" among other words.
Finally, it has emerged this morning that Nottingham Forest are considering legal action against Gary Neville for his words on Super Sunday, specifically his words labelling the Forest tweet as a “mafia gang” statement.

No one knows where to go from here and to some it may seem like Forest has absolutely lost the plot. We won’t truly know the outcome fr this for at least a couple of weeks as PGMOL and the FA have never had to deal with a situation like it. All we can say at Football Park is just fetch some popcorn and enjoy the show, because this is far from over.
