James Maddison has always been known for his social media antics, never shying away from an opportunity to call something or someone out, and allowing his personality to shine through online.
With his season, and with it his World Cup prospects at the end of the season, coming to an unfortunate potential end before it even began by way of an ACL injury in pre-season, Maddison has still kept in good form in the online realm, particularly in the aftermath of Ipswich Town's 3-1 win over his former side, Norwich City.
Ipswich Town were in rude form on Sunday afternoon, with goals from Jack Clarke and Cedric Kipre sandwiching a rocket from Jaden Philogene to dismiss their East Anglia rivals 3-1, marking their first win over The Canaries since 2009.
Back in April 2024, after Norwich City had dismissed Kieran McKenna's side 1-0 during Ipswich's eventually successful bid for promotion, Maddison goaded Ipswich fans with a claim that East Anglia "will always be yellow and green".
Just in case anyone needed reminding…East anglia is & always will be yellow and green 💛💚 15 years now?👀😎@NorwichCityFC https://t.co/caof8y04UR

Not ones to hold a grudge against the former Norwich midfielder, an Ipswich fan account brought the tweet back into the limelight following Sunday's win for Ipswich, asking Maddison if there was to be any follow-up on his older post.
Any update on this @Madders10? 🤫#ITFC https://t.co/mVbpkzDD2E

Of course, calling out James Maddison on X is a bit like wearing a meat dress in a lions cage. As potentially expected, the Tottenham star would reply some four hours later to the jibe.
1 win in 16 years. Have some shame son😂

Meow.
Of course, Maddison has long been known for his colourful commentary in social media, with plenty of choice occasions on display of him replying to doubters and baiters alike online.
Following Tottenham's 1-0 win in the Europa League final last season, which brought an end to Spurs' 17-year wait for a major trophy, Maddison would soon be online against infamous Chelsea fan Rory Jennings, asking "what on earth is a Chelsea Rory".
What on earth is a Chelsea Rory😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/00Vax9nOPb

And, way back in 2019, Maddison would be on hand to respond to feedback once again, this time from a very familiar name in Jeremy Clarkson. The former Top Gear host and Chelsea fan had stated that the Coventry City academy product spent "too long at the barbers" in a critical post about him (without tagging him, we should add). Of course, Maddison would soon be online with a scathing viral retort...
Stick to cars mate. Can count on 1 hand how many trims you’ve got left #thin https://t.co/z1mDh177q8

A simply stunning reply. At the time, anyway, as it didn't end up aging too well for Maddison...
This aged stupendously https://t.co/m2OFF23w5A pic.twitter.com/5Cd1XZW135

All in all, though, Maddison on social media tends to be a box-office hit amongst a suggested lack of personality amongst Premier League footballers in the modern age. Tweets calling him out, I imagine, are too him what the Bat-Signal is for Bruce Wayne. One things for certain, and that's that his unfortunate injury has shown no signs of slowing down his form off the pitch.
