Whitworth was excellent between the sticks as he kept a vital clean sheet for Exeter City. His reflexes were at full view, as he pulled off a string of brilliant saves to frustrate the opposition. Whether it was commanding his box or calmly distributing the ball when under pressure, Whitworth showcased himself as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the game.
Sonny Aljofree - Strong at right centre-back, Aljofree was a brick wall as far as defensive instinct and aerial ability are concerned. The power of his reading allowed him to snuff out danger before it developed, while his composure under pressure allowed team-mates to play out from the back with confidence.
Zac Williams - Williams turned out a captain's display performance to put himself in the heart of this back three as he marshaled the back and was very important in crucial duels. His timing in tackles and ability to step into midfield with the ball was crucial in how solid Crewe were defensively this week.
