The final day Champions League games comenses on Wednesday with 18 games taking place. We are looking at the headline game of the day as PSG welcome Newcastle to the Parc des Princes in a huge clash for the top eight. Both teams currently hold those automatic qualifaction spots, but sat in sixth and seventh, it looks as if only one will keep those spots with a win.
The two sides last battled it out in 2023, where Newcastle picked up four points in the group stage, including a 4-1 thrashing at St James's Park. At the Parc des Princes the result ended in a one all draw and this could be a cagey affair with something similar.
Both teams have performed well so far in the competiton. But with the pressure mounting who will come out on top...

The Reigning Champions PSG sit top of Ligue 1 and in the top eight in the Champions League. After lifting the title last season, they are looking to go back to back and have started the campaign well. The French giants must win if they are to confirm a top eight finish, and after failing to beat Newcastle back in 2023 there will be that little extra to prove. They come into the game after a loss to Sporting Lisbon away from home and will be extremely disappointed, playing with a chip on their shoulder.
Over 6.5 Corners Set pieces have become a staple part of the game in recent months, with teams basing their tactics around it. PSG have accumulated the most corners in the competiton this season, with an impressive 49. The visitors Newcastle are 11th in corners and will need to capitalise on them on Wednesday using their height to their advantage. The likes of Dan Burn will be a huge threat, and he's already scored against this PSG defence.
Over 2.5 Cards The game has a lot on the line, neither team will want to lose and drop out that top eight. All of this points towards a fiesty game that could be full of cards. Everyone knows the tendancies of this Newcastle midfield and in a toxic atmosphere where the crowd will be on every breathe, it's hard to see a small number of cards. There has been 17 cards between the two sides in the competiton, which isn't too many. But this game will be different.
Over 1.5 Goals PSG's attacking quality is argubaly the rest in the world, with the likes of Balland'or winner Ousmane Dembele on the wing. They've scored 20 goals so far, the joint most in the competiton and at home they will have the crowd behind them, cheering every attack. Newscatle are also dangerous on the counter, with the inform Harvey Barnes, they could hurt this PSG team.
Newcastle United to Win The Geordies will travel in their numbers for a game of this stature. With top eight qualification on the line, they will throw everything at PSG and if they get off to an early start then it could be hard for PSG to come back. They have experience of beating PSG, however that was a home game. Last time they travelled to France they were unlucky, giving away that controversial penalty in the last minutes of added time. Of course Mbappe converted and broke those travelling Geordies hearts.
Sandro Tonali to be Shown a Card One of numerous hot heads in this Newcastle midfield. We expect Tonali to line up alongside Bruno Guimares and Joelinton. You can pick any of these three in the middle to be carded but we've opted for Tonali as he's often the one man back to stop the counters. He's picked up three yellows in his last four games and this could be no different. With the talent in PSG's midfield, it could be hard for Tonali to even get near them.
Both Teams to Score With both sides looking for three points, there will be numerous opportunities and the longer the game goes on, the more the kitchen sink will be thrown. In their two previous meetings, this has come in both times. 36 goals between the two sides, shows that they both posses the ability to hurt each other. With the likes of Wissa and Barnes on form and the undeniable talent of Dembele, it could be goals galore.
Ousmane Dembele and Harvey Barnes 1+ Shots on Target Both these players are on form in recent weeks. Harvey Barnes has netted five goals in 6 games, including that last gasp winner against Leeds. Dembele on the other hand has three goals and two assists in his last five games. Both very different profiles, but at the top of their game, they will be the key outlets pushing their teams towards three points.
