The Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey takes place this weekend in Spain and there are some interesting fixtures. Real Madrid take on fourth tier side Deportiva Minera who were promoted from the fifth tier earlier this year.
CD Minera have already beaten a significantly bigger side in the Copa del Rey this season, beating Deportivo Alaves on penalties at home in the second round. In that match Alaves had to come from behind twice to keep the game level.
Real Madrid have kept up their good form as of late and taken pole position in La Liga as a result of Barcelona’s poor run. They last dropped points in the league at the beginning of December and haven’t looked like dropping anymore recently.
CD Minera Predicted Lineup - Francisco Martinez Pujante; Jaunmi Heredero, David Bernal, Juan Manuel Romero, Jose Garcia; Pipo, Cristhian Britos, Damian Petcoff, Domingo Beltran; Francisco Ferron, Omar Perdomo
It’s hard to say who CD Minera’s most important player is, as there aren’t many records of their matches outside of those in the Copa del Rey. In their game against Alaves, full back Jose Garcia opened the scoring before substitute Sandji Baradji scored in extra-time.
Real Madrid Predicted Lineup - Fran Gonzalez; Youssef Enriquez, Jesus Vallejo, Jacobo Ramon, Lorenzo Aguado; Dani Ceballos, Chema Andres, Luka Modric; Victor Munoz, Endrick, Daniel Yanez
Like CD Minera, it is difficult to tell who is going to play for Real Madrid, but for a very different reason. CD Minera are not at the same level as Real are, so the Spanish giants are likely to play a lot of young players, while keeping some experience in the side to stop the occasion getting to them.
In this scenario, the likes of Dani Ceballos and Endrick are important to keep the game under control for Real Madrid. Endrick has just 82 minutes in the league this season, so a game like this could end up being vital for his Real Madrid career.
I think that it will come as no surprise that these two teams have never met before in footballing history. Real Madrid are giants of the Spanish game, and CD Minera are a small regional side in the South East of the country.
Real Madrid are a giant of Spanish football and should win this game with ease, even if they play their youth squad. The Copa del Rey sometimes throws some shocking results at us, but this is one that I can only see going Real Madrid’s way.
With all of this in mind, our team of professional experts have decided that the best tip for this game is for Real Madrid to Win to Nil. Odds of 4/5 on Parimatch means that a £10 bet could see a potential return of £18.
(odds subject to change)
