When you think about iconic celebrations, players like Cole Palmer and Cristiano Ronaldo might come into mind. And yes, they are iconic. However, did you know that some are so iconic that they anger grown men? Because trust me they have. Your average Fifa player would have experienced at least half of these. A broken tv, phone or controller were a guarantee. Especially when you are 4-0 down at half time. We are looking into the past and ranking the Fifa celebrations that were guaranteed to make your opponent rage quit.
Oh the fabled dab. How could anyone forget such an iconic dance throughout the 2010s? Originally becoming popular in 2015, everyone and their nans were doing the dab. Footballers then caught on to the craze as Paul Pogba famously used to dab every time he scored a goal. Fifa did what they still do best and put the celebration into their latest edition at the time, Fifa 17. At first it was funny, even addictive to dab when you scored a goal. However, after a few months, tv’s started to break especially when your opponent dabbed after going 3-0 up in FUT Champs. The toxicity was flowing through Fifa players, and it was then considered “toxic” to dab. Ridiculous right? Funny thing is it was banned in 2021 for being too toxic. Comical.

100% the most toxic celebration that has ever been in Fifa. Not even joking, the BBC even made a news story on how the shush was making players rage quit. The community complained and just like its dab counterpart, was banned in Fifa 21. I mean jesus, Fifa 20 must’ve made players want to do some questionable things. To be honest, banning the celebration wasn’t even a bad idea. Seeing a Fifa player that is probably 10 years younger than you shushing was incredibly humbling and frustrating. A large part of the community however, wanted to enrage their opponents. So once again, Fifa listened and brought back the shush in their rebranded FC24. Truly iconic but not for the right reasons.

Basically the Generation Alpha’s version of a dab. Less iconic, but still one that really grinded your gears. Becoming popular in the song “Right Foot Creep”, the griddy even appeared on Fortnite before being added to Fifa 23. Having to sit there and watch a bloke dance for 5 seconds didn’t sit well for much of the community. It would just go on and on and on. Some would say it was a smart timewasting tactic. Others would say it was a catchy dance and actually quite impressive if you can pull it off.

I’d be shocked if you didn’t know this one. Arguably the GOAT to some and so was this celebration. You could even hear Ronaldo shouting “siuuuu” every time he did it. The main reason his celebration was hated was predominantly Messi fans. Okay, definitely Messi fans. Even after he retires, the siu will remain in Fifa celebration history. The quick spin, jump and siu. Simply remarkable. Fifa fans can say they now speak a little bit of Portuguese after hearing it so many times.

It’s him again. Ronaldo telling everyone to calm down as your 5-0 down did completely the opposite. The celebration was there to wind people up and it worked. Ronaldo and his little mind games, I think Fifa always had a favourite. A recent “cold Palmer” also has adopted this celebration as well knowing full well it would be handbags for the opposition fans. Football players really do have a handle on us fans. So do their Fifa counterparts.

Right this one is a personal hate of mine. It is literally the player twerking and giving their hands a wave. It’s funny to watch, but not when the opponent scores some fluky rebound or deflection, then it is straight up disrespectful. Only option is to get them back next time to make it fair game. However, is it worth having to twerk to get under your opponent’s skin? Yes.

If you have made it this far then fairplay. Most others would have thrown their phone out the window by now. That's Fifa rage for you.
