Blackburn Rovers and Wrexham have joined Preston North End and Derby County in the pursuit of highly rated Everton youngster Harrison Armstrong, as per the Football League World. Link
Armstrong has made 8 appearances for Everton, with his debut coming in a 3-0 win over Doncaster in the EFL Cup back in August 2024. The player went on to make his FA Cup debut for the Toffees in January this year, picking up an assist and a MOTM award for his contributions.

Armstrong is a versatile central midfielder, equally comfortable pulling the strings in midfield or dropping deeper to support the defence. In order to sustain his growth, Armstrong was loaned to Derby County in January 2025 for the remainder of the season. During his loan spell, the 18-year-old made made 15 appearances and netted once, while also earning caps for England U18s.

It is no surprise that Derby County are back in for the youngster after his impressive displays for them last season. However, fierce competition from other clubs may tempt his decision-making. After surviving relegation last time out, the Rams will be looking to bounce back and mount a push for play offs, with Harrison at the focal point of this.

Preston North End endured a difficult campaign last season, only just avoiding relegation. This summer they've turned to young Premier League prospects like Lewis Dobbin and Alfie Devine - making a move for Armstrong fits perfectly in line with their new direction. Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers narrowly missed the play-offs, and after a sluggish start this season, are seeking the quality and stability needed to push them forward.
Fresh from three straight promotions, Wrexham are eyeing a fourth and showing real intent in the transfer market. Having added proven Championship experience, the signing of a young talent like Harrison Armstrong could further strengthen their charge. Despite their activity, the Red Dragons may still lack a true midfield wildcard - an area where Armstrong's arrival could give them the edge.
