Leicester and Coventry Set To Battle It Out For Sturm Graz Striker

Championship sides Leicester and Coventry are about to fight for the signature of Sturm Graz striker William Boving, according to Football League World.

The 22-year-old, who scored 11 goals in 30 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga last season, is reportedly available for a fee around the £3 million mark.

The Dane has a wealth of experience in the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League and could be a welcome asset to either of the Championship clubs.

What Could Boving Bring To The Championship?

The Dane is a versatile forward player. He has played centre forward and left wing for the majority of his career. His height, 5ft 9inch, lends well to a variety of positions.

He is able to score goals, as well as provide them. He scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in the Austrian Bundesliga last season.

Boving is agile on the ball, and is able to drift across the whole frontline to create space.

If he can adjust to the physicality of the Championship, everything points towards him being a success in England.

Leicester and Coventry's Need For a Striker

Leicester striking options are currently limited to only Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka. Neither have proved they can be goalscorers in the Championship so far this season. Boving could come in to challenge the position.

Meanwhile, Coventry's two current options at striker are Ellis Simms and Haji Wright. Wright is tipped to be one of the challengers to the Championship golden boot, but Simms is unpredictable. He only managed seven goals in all competitions last season. Boving could provide backup to Wright if Simms is not firing on all cylinders yet again this season.
