Queens Park Rangers are reportedly attempting a loan deal for Southampton defender Ronnie Edwards, as per West London Sport. The deal is understood to be worth £200k for the season, with an option-to-buy clause worth £8 million.
Edwards became a fan favourite in West London last season, after making 21 appearances in the Championship for QPR on loan from the Saints and it is fair to say that QPR fans have not taken their eyes off him since.
The 22-year-old became one of the most sought after youngsters across the English Football League after his triumphs for Peterborough United and in the England youth setups. However, the defender has failed to regularly print his name on the team sheet down in Southampton.
The Saints purchased Edwards from the Posh in 2024, for a deal worth over £3 million. However, as Southampton stumbled amidst Premier League football, the hyped talent struggled to get minutes.

In January of this year, Edwards went on a six-month loan to Queens Park Rangers, where he managed to rejuvenate his football by impressing in West London. The defender even managed to score two goals in the second tier.
On the back of a Euro U21 win with England, as well as an abundance of adoration from QPR fans, now might be the perfect time for Edwards to go and play regular football.
