The Manchester United Carrington youth academy just keeps on churning out talented future prospects, irrespective of how well the senior side is doing.
In recent years, the likes of Scott McTominay, Kobbie Mainoo, Brandon Williams and Alvaro Carreras have all made their way through the United youth ranks and, for the most part, have gone on to big European clubs, with the exception of Williams.

Now, two more talents for the future have sealed loan deals away from the Red Devils in order to develop their game, with left-back Harry Amass returning to the Championship with Watford, while central midfielder Toby Collyer is switching West Brom for Hull City in a bid for more minutes.
It is no surprise that both youngsters found themselves on the move this January - Collyer has played just 12 times for West Brom since the opening day of the campaign, making it an unsustainable loan deal, while Amass is fully deserving of a loan move to a more achieving club than Sheffield Wednesday.
Amass in particular deserved another loan move this month. He has been a verified star for the Championship bottom side, and has regularly been the only positive that Owls fans can take away from games during this dire season that sees them 36 points adrift from safety.
But predictably, a player with such talent will never stay at a bottom-ranked side for long, and Amass’ loan to Norwich looked a dead cert before the transfer window even opened.
Norwich have not fared much better themselves, as they sit just two points above the drop zone, but at least they have shown they are able to compete with bigger sides this campaign, unlike Wednesday, who have won just once.
Amass will arrive in a setting where his skills can be put to use in pursuit of something tangible, namely Championship survival, and to train and play in a competitive, high-stakes setting can only be to the teenager’s benefit.
Norwich’s last result was actually a remarkable 5-0 away win at West Brom, Toby Collyer’s last fixture at the club, and though the 22-year-old didn’t even make the matchday squad, this result surely had a bearing on his and his parent club’s decision to move on.

With West Brom only sitting one point above Norwich, Collyer has left at a good time, and despite his limited minutes, has surprisingly worked his way up the table into 4th place, where he joins a currently overachieving Hull City.
Going through something of a midfield injury crisis, Hull are without central figures Eliot Matazo, Darko Gyabi, and Mohamed Belloumi, and with Collyer’s clean injury record and young energy, he has likely been brought in as a cover/squad depth option, who can sufficiently fill a vacancy when required.
Both players move to their new clubs on a vanilla six-month loan deal, with neither club inserting an option-to-buy clause to the best of our knowledge.
