Spinazzola Snapped Up By Napoli

Roma and Serie A star Leonardo Spinazzola has found himself joining Napoli for the 24/25 season and onwards. The move comes about after himself and his now former club, AS Roma, decided that he would not resign a contract with the capital based club.

Fabrizio Romano, tier one Football Park rated source has reported that Spinazzola has officially completed his medical today in order for him to be signed. It is now on Napoli as to when they want to announce his signing to their fans. His contract is valid until June 2026 and is new manger Antonio Conte’s first arrival, with Conte wanting to bring in Rafa Marin as well.

Spinazzola racked up 2,066 minutes of football last season and in that time, he achieved 1 goal and 4 assists. Across the last 365 days he has averaged 6.39 progressive carries, 0.20 expected assisted goals, 1.34 successful take-ons and 2.14 touches in the opposition box, all per 90 minutes. With these stats, he is in the top 84 percentile and above in comparison to other fullbacks, actually being the no.1 fullback for progressive carries.

He has been a servant to Roma since 2019 and they have stuck by him, even through his ruptured Achilles tendon that he picked up in Euro 2020, seeing him miss 56 games of football over the span of 278 days.

The Italian is fairly injury prone, but Napoli have picked up a quality player on his day when 100% fit and healthy. Having been around the top clubs in Serie A all his life, the 31 year old will look to settle here and play until his body gives out on him.
