Sunderland have opened talks with Norwich over Sargent, with the American striker potentially set for a second chance to showcase his ability in the Premier League. Since then, Sargent has developed into a key figure for Norwich in the Championship and entered this season among the favourites for the Golden Boot. Given his blistering start to the campaign, he looked well on course to challenge for that honour
With Norwich sitting mid-table in 11th, Sargent may be tempted by Premier League interest and the chance to prove himself ahead of next year’s World Cup. A loyal servant at Carrow Road, his record of 54 goals and 12 assists in 138 appearances highlights just how big a loss he would be if Sunderland and Norwich were to strike a deal.
