Under 21s Team of the Week: Buonanotte Key For Leicester
This week in English football saw even more fantastic action from u21 players across the division. Here's a look at the top talents, from goalkeeper to striker, who made a big impact.
Marschall, a nearly permanent fixture in these sides, was rock solid once again for Crewe Alexandra. He made a fantastic key save, as well as dominant with his punching from crosses.

An excellent defensive performance from Newcastle’s Lewis Hall, tucked in and covered the left centre-back position when needed. He also got forward to effect and put dangerous balls into the box.
Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall are both in the England U21 squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers 🏴

Bit cheeky to put him on the left, but his performance against Preston was too good to ignore. Burnley held the ball well, and Egan-Riley was key in possession. He showed his strength and aggression out of possession.

Knight-Lebel was also key for Crewe in their 2-0 win over Gillingham. He’s on loan from Bristol City and made seven clearances while keeping a clean sheet.
Lewis did his job excellently as Fulham tested Manchester City well. Although he was up against Adama Traore, most of the Spaniard’s chances came when he drifted centrally. Lewis also picked up an assist.
📊 Only Erling Haaland has more than Rico Lewis' four goal involvements for Man this season.

Charles managed a winner in extra time as Sheffield Wednesday beat Coventry away from home. He was vital in controlling in the midfield, and won lots of duels and made plenty of interceptions.
Rigg is arguably the most exciting talent in the Championship. Alongside Bellingham in midfield, Rigg was vital. He opened the scoring with a well taken goal in the 9th minute against Leeds United.
Sunderland fans really had a huge flag of 17 year-old Chris Rigg this weekend during their top of the table clash with Leeds at the Stadium of Light. 🤩🏳️

He’s been at the club since the age of 5 & has been one of their best players this season… He even went on to score in the… pic.twitter.com/AsLDItTj6J
Bit cheeky again since he mostly operated on the right-wing, but he can play there so we’ll take it. He was all over the ball and managed the only goal in a 1-0 win over Bournemouth. His involvement will hopefully be key for Leicester to kick on this season. He looks like an experienced player on the ball despite his young age.
Minteh has been a revelation for Brighton this season, following his arrival from Newcastle United. He scored one in Brighton’s impressive comeback win over Tottenham.
Yankuba Minteh’s best game for us today. Borderline man of the match.

Grabbed the goal to start the comeback, and was electric.
Worked well with Kaoru Mitoma, a lot of potential for the top.

Scored a fantastic headed goal in a draw with Oxford United, and really looked like he belonged at Championship level. He’s been fantastic both for Portsmouth and for the Irish youth teams.
Came on as a substitute in Norwich’s 4-0 win over Hull City. He came on in the 58th minute, and scored just seven minutes into his cameo. He’ll be seriously pushing for a starting spot in their next match.
