Watford Seek Hammers Youngster On Loan

Young West Ham United midfielder is reportedly at Vicarage Road in attempt to secure a last-minute loan move to Championship side Watford, as expressed by David Mason.

The 21-year-old has already exercised two loan deals across the EFL in the last two seasons, but only has less than one hour to complete the third. Whilst the midfielder looks very promising, minutes aren’t a guarantee for West Ham this season, making Watford a worthy destination for the young talent.

Time is Ticking for the Hornets

Watford are very strict for time on Transfer Deadline Day, which only amasses more pressure that they must get this deal done.

Potts already has a wealth of experience under his belt despite his age, after playing 36 League One games for Wycombe Wanderers in the 2023/24 season and then making 37 Championship appearances for Portsmouth last campaign.

The West Ham prospect has been tipped to be a future starter in East London, after already playing a handful of games for the first team in both the Premier League and European competitions. However, it is clear that the Hammers still think he’s one more loan move away and Watford may just be the right one to ignite his future.

Potts would join Moussa Sissoko and new signing Hector Kyprianou in the Hornets’ midfield, after they have kicked the 2025/26 season off with just five points from four games. Since their relegation in 2022, Watford have looked nowhere near like contending for promotion, which is now trying to change with a brand-new project.
