Reading FC have upped their interest in Armando Dobra in recent days, according to FootballInsider's Pete O'Rourke, but face a battle to secure their top target's signature with a host of Championship clubs also interested.
The Chesterfield forward has become a growing source of speculation with a price tag likely around £1-2m gaining mass attention towards the back end of the window.
Dobra has been a real source of output for his current side since joining in 2022 and has hit double figures for goals in each of his last three campaigns.
Dobra recently signed a new contract in February of this year, in theory keeping him at the club for another two-and-a-half-years. But this 'hands off' gesture hasn't stopped interest from arising.
🚨Chesterfield have tied down Armando Dobra to a new two-and-a-half year contract. Huge news, and the speed of the deal, so soon after interest in him in January, is great credit to everyone.https://t.co/22quNVwZzc #Spireites

Reports indicate a host of clubs, including big names like Portsmouth from the Championship, and Reading & Luton from League One, are all vying for the Albanian's signature.
No formal bid from any of the interested parties has been reported yet, but with the list of clubs growing increasingly large, Reading will have to act fast and efficiently if they are to get their man.
Coinciding with the recent reports surrounding Reading's move for Striker Jack Marriot from Wrexham, the clubs winger shortlist does contain other names should they fail to sign Dobra.

Josh Bowler or Matt Ritchie the preferred options.
More flair, potential and longer term investment in buying Bowler. Ritchie an experienced head who still has plenty to add in the short term.

Josh Bowler, currently at Nottingham Forest after a season at Luton Town last season which saw him only make 8 first team appearances, has a market value of around £900k and is of interest to The Royals.
The club are also reportedly targeting a swoop for former Newcastle United and current Portsmouth winger Matt Ritchie, with the 35-year-old having seemingly fallen out of favour on the South Coast.
