Canadian international Cyle Larin has completed his medical at Championship side Southampton ahead of a move that will see the striker join the Saints on a loan deal until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports' Dharmesh Sheth.
The 30-year old has had his current loan at Feyenoord cut short to accommodate his move to the South coast of England, opting to join Southampton despite interest from France, Italy, Spain, Greece and the MLS. His parent club, La Liga side Mallorca, deem him to be unnecessary to keep around, especially considering the scoring form Vedat Muriqi has been in this season.
It's been reported that Larin made his decision because he admires the style of play that Tonda Eckert has implemented, believing that he will fit in well and earn vital minutes to earn a place in his nation's World Cup squad.
With his medical completed, it's now only a matter of time until we see the announcement from Southampton that Larin will become a part of the squad for the remainder of the season, joining up with Ross Stewart, Kuryu Matsuki and Cameron Archer as competition for the starting striker role.

This comes amid rumours that the Rangers have ended their interest in signing Cameron Archer, while Adam Armstrong is set to leave for Wolves in a deal with £7 million.
Larin is a short term replacement, but he'll need to find scoring form straight away at the Saints, as Armstrong's 15 goal contributions in the Championship this season will be a big miss if their new man can't match those numbers.
There may well be worries about Larin's scoring form, though, as he hasn't hit double figures in a season for five years now, last doing so for Besiktas in Turkey.
In fact, he only found the net once in 15 appearances for Feyenoord, and the Dutch fans don't seem especially upset about his departure...

Fans of Southampton will be hoping that their new man can find prolific form quickly in the Championship if they want to have any hope of starting to mount a play-off charge in the wake of Armstrong's departure.
