Fantasy Premier League: Under-Priced & Bargain Players for Your FPL Side

FPL Differentials: Five Underrated and Undervalued Gems for your FPL Side

As GW1 in the Premier League comes to a close, and players start to consider transfers for their side, we’ve got you covered with all of the bargains you can pick from to set your team apart from other managers’. Whether you’re trying to avoid a horrible forfeit, or win the prize pot, Football Park is here to help.

We’ve done our research, and have found the five most under-valued differentials for your side.

Wout Faes - DF (£4.0m)

Kicking off our list, you can’t go wrong with a nailed on starter at the £4 million mark.

The Belgian was a key asset in Leicester’s Championship winning campaign, and it’s hard to see who The Foxes would start over him in central defence. Last year Faes kept 14 clean sheets, and while this tally will obviously be lower in the Premier League, you just can’t turn him down at this price point.

The centre-back also scored twice, so he’s useful as a goal threat from set-pieces.

Whilst I’m not suggesting starting Faes, he’s certainly a useful option to rotate into your side when fixtures are favourable.

Antonee Robinson - DF (£4.5m)

Once again, Robinson is a must have for me. The USA international was arguably the best performing left-back in the Premier League last campaign, and I think he’ll have another great season.

Sure, on pitch performances are all well and good, but how does it translate to FPL? Well, the Fulham man managed to grab six assists last season, registering 104 points.

With Fulham’s fixtures now looking favourable, Robinson is a fantastic option at such a low price point for your defence. The American will continue his trademark forward runs, and will pick up bags of assists for it.

While there remain question marks over rotation with Ryan Sessegnon, I wouldn’t worry about that. Sessegnon was left out of the matchday squad for Fulham’s season opener at Old Trafford.

Morgan Rogers - MF (£5.0m)

Morgan Rogers played a bit part role for Aston Villa last season, but impressed when he did play. He managed to register three goals and one assist for the Villans last campaign, and with Diaby leaving the club, it looks like Rogers will become a key player for Unai Emery’s side.

He started their opening fixture away at West Ham, and there was definitely positives to take from his performance.

Aston Villa will be looking to retain their place in the Champions League next season, so we can expect plenty of attacking returns from Rogers in their race for the top four.

Whilst he might not return quite as much as other players in his position, say Bukayo Saka, it’s worth a look with the £5 million price difference allowing further investments in other positions.

My only concern for Rogers is his discipline, the midfielder picked up three yellow cards in the minutes he did play last campaign, so that’s certainly something to watch out for.

Christopher Nkunku - MF (£6.5m)

There is always value in medium priced midfielders. Sure, they’re not Salah or Palmer, but they do get the job done.

Although Nkunku spent the majority of last campaign sidelined with an injury, the Frenchman looks to be getting back to his best. I think the injury is why he’s so cheap for his quality. It’s hard to see how a man who registered 35 GA in 34 Bundesliga matches would be so cheap otherwise.

He’s also had a good hand in pre-season, scoring three goals in five matches.

Despite a tough opening fixture against Manchester City, Chelsea’s next set of fixtures include Wolves, Bournemouth and Nottingham forest. Should the Frenchman keep fit, he’ll be a great option for your side.

Jamie Vardy - FWD (£5.5m)

If it’s not broken, the trick is to not fix it.

A few years ago, Jamie Vardy was one of the first names in every manager's FPL side. Despite reaching the ripe age of 37, Vardy still clearly has the ability to score goals, as he proved in the Championship last campaign.

The former England international registered 18 goals and two assists in England’s second tier, and it appears he’ll do it again.

His highest ever FPL points tally is 211, but he’s broken the 200 barrier more than once. Now I’m in no way suggesting he’ll hit those numbers again, but I do think a player with a pedigree like Vardy is the definition of a Bargain at that low price. He’s got 181 Premier League goal contributions in his career, no brainer.

Think about it, if you select the Red Bull fueled Premier League winner over Ollie Watkins (who blanked in GW1), you’ve saved yourself £3.5 million. That’s the difference between Anthony and Phil Foden.
