Premier League Giants Chasing Nordsjaelland Sensation

Ghanaian Sensation Edging Closer to Premier League Move With Chelsea and Man City Interested

Premier League clubs are always on the lookout for the next big talent - the only thing that can make an investment in an outstanding young player is if the wider public don’t even know about their existence, whether it be through their extremely young age or a less well-followed league.

Well, one of these ultra-rare talents appears to have popped up in the Danish Superliga for serial European contenders FC Nordsjaelland, and after a rapid start to the season, both Chelsea and Manchester City are now keeping tabs on him ahead of the January transfer window.

The talent in question is 18-year-old Ghanaian winger Prince Amoako Junior who, after being linked with a move to the Premier League in September, is now once again of interest to some of the biggest clubs in the country.

Who is Prince Amoako Junior?

A graduate from the heralded “Right to Dream” international academy, which boasts graduates including Brentford’s Mikkel Damsgaard, Sunderland’s Simon Adingra, and Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus, Amoako Junior certainly has some big steps to follow.

However, taking part in what is his first professional season, the uncapped Ghanaian is certainly showing that he has the necessary talent to equal and even surpass the achievements of his fellow scholars - it took him just four minutes of professional football to score, netting in Nordsjaelland’s season opener against FC Frederica.

The left winger would also go on to assist in the same game, and maintained his fast start by scoring three goals in his next six games, and averaging a goal or assist every other game in subsequent fixtures. In all competitions, he now has five goals and four assists in 19 games.

Although his electric form has not been enough to force his side up the table (Nordsjaelland sit in eighth), his form has not gone unnoticed, and slowly, European clubs have started to register an interest.

I mentioned that he has been linked with a Premier League move already - the rumours circulating back in September suggested he would be on his way to none other than Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but no move ever materialised.

However, with Man City and Chelsea now weighing up a move, his big-club potential can no longer be questioned. Clearly, Amoako Junior has all the skills required to make it big, and simply needs experience on the big stage to fine-tune his skills.

Though he is unlikely to leave in January, likely to exercise the option of playing a full season in order to boost his top-flight experience, that won't deter Premier League clubs - if a side finds a prospect they like the look of, they will pursue it unendingly until the move is finally done.

Confident on the ball, and constantly looking to gain possession of it, Junior is a ball-hungry demon who relentlessly runs opposing full backs into the ground. Essentially, he is every Premier League team’s dream prospect, and at the age of 18, any club that does sign him will have plenty of time to shape him into the player they need.

Quick, aggressive on the ball and confident despite his age, it is only a matter of time until we see Prince Amoako Junior exhibiting just that on the grandest stages.
