Top Fantasy Premier League Bargain Picks for 2025/26

Fantasy Premier League officially launched today for the 2025/26 season. A highly anticipated event, as it is the largest fantasy football game of any domestic football league. With over 11 million users last season, many managers will already be tactically picking their first drafts.

In light of the launch, Football Park has curated a list of 10 of the best valued players in the game. Expect some bargain buys, and some extremely undervalued players to feature. Taking into consideration how they performed last season, as well as who will benefit from the new ‘defensive contributions’ scoring. Players will earn 2 points for reaching 10 (for defenders) or 12 (for midfielders) defensive actions, e.g. clearances, blocks, interceptions, tackles.

1. Florian Wirtz (MID, Liverpool) - £8.5m

Liverpool’s £100 million man is set to be hugely popular, echoing similarities with the Gabriel Jesus craze of 2022, who proved that new signings can hit the ground running and perform way above their FPL valuation. Cheaper than Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, and Bruno Fernandes, Wirtz has hit 23 goal contributions in both of his last two Bundesliga campaigns. If he integrates well into Liverpool's attack, he could be a massive points scorer for his price.

2. Aaron Wan-Bissaka (DEF, West Ham) - £4.5m

Defensive players will certainly be approached differently this season with the contributions points in mind. Meaning that the days of fielding a back line of fullbacks are behind us. AWB showed an improved attacking threat last season (2 goals, 6 assists) while maintaining his defensive solidity, well known for his tough tackling. Defenders are cheaper than midfielders and forwards; however, most solid options are still above £5m. Wan-Bissaka provides you with a solid option if you are running low on budget, and will be even stronger if West Ham start to keep more clean sheets!

3. Marc Guéhi (DEF, Crystal Palace) - £4.5m

Once again, it is important to stress that the game has evolved so that defenders will now be considered a lot more; now they are capable of scoring more points. Another option for under £5m, Guéhi is a nailed-on starter; he offers a solid route into a team that often keeps clean sheets. There are rumours of a move away, so nail him down whilst his value is still low.

4. Joao Pedro (FWD, Chelsea) - £7.5m

Forwards present the smallest pool to choose from, just 68 are currently in the game. Joao Pedro’s price allows you to invest elsewhere in your squad without sacrificing a quality attacker. He's considerably cheaper than premium options like Haaland (£14.0m) or Isak (£10.5m). With Nicolas Jackson suspended for the start of the season, Joao Pedro is expected to lead the line for Chelsea. He showed his prowess during the FIFA Club World Cup, bagging a brace in the semi-final and a goal in the final, indicating he's integrated well into the team. It’s also worth noting that Chelsea have a very generous start to the season opponents-wise.

5. Micky van de Ven (DEF, Spurs) - £4.5m

Given Spurs' attacking philosophy and decent opening fixtures, Van de Ven could be a great option and way to include a Tottenham defensive player without breaking the bank. Cheaper than Christian Romero (£5m), VDV is set to be a consistent starter, providing no injuries are picked up. Another strong and proven defender, who will pick up contributions points, £4.5m defenders are clearly the way to go this season.

6. Morgan Rogers (MID, Aston Villa) - £7.0m

Rogers had a fantastic breakout season in 2024/25 with 161 points as a £5.0m asset. A player whose price could potentially rise as the season progresses, Rogers is bound to start for Villa and is another mid-range option who could exceed expectations in 2025/26.

7. Bart Verbruggen (GK, Brighton & Hove) - £4.5m

Goalkeepers are not the position to splash the cash on, and often finding a reliable £4.5m goalie is a necessity. Bart Verbruggen fights off competition from fellow keeper Caoimhin Kelleher of Brentford to take the title of the best £4.5m option. Both will be solid options and guaranteed points; however, both Brentford and Kelleher are unknown quantities ahead of the new season. Verbruggen earned 103 points last season, keeping 7 clean sheets in 36 games, picking up 1 assist too.

8. Adrien Truffert (DEF, Bournemouth) - £4.5m

Freshly signed by Bournemouth, Truffert is an attacking left-back who has a good record of goal contributions (5 goals, 16 assists over the last 3 seasons for Rennes). He is expected to replace Milos Kerkez, making him a compelling prospect. Be warned, Bournemouth face Liverpool in game week one, so perhaps wait until after the Cherries’ trip to Anfield.

9. Jorgen Strand Larsen (FWD, Wolves) - £6.5m

If spending £7.5m on Joao Pedro is deemed too expensive, then there are plenty of options for less. Strand Larsen scored 145 for Wolves last season, starting 30 of their 38 matches. Including him in your team is a no-brainer, but also low-risk at £6.5m. This summer, the Dane has made his loan move to Wolves permanent. He was the highest points earner of any debutant last season; now that he is here to stay, things should only improve.

10. Simon Adingra (MID, Sunderland) - £5.5m

It's worth putting at least one player from a newly promoted club on the list. Liam Delap notched up over 130 points for Ipswich Town last season after all. Adingra scored 97 points in his debut Premier League season (2023/24) whilst only starting 25 games, just imagine what he could do when given as one of the first names on the team sheet at Sunderland.
