AFC Wimbledon are reportedly looking to bring in out-of-favour striker Layton Stewart from Swiss Super League side FC Thun, according to Football Insider's Pete O'Roarke.
The ex-Liverpool man may be making a return to England after a short stint in Switzerland, only joining Thun in July 2025 from Preston North End.
Having only made six appearances for his current side this season, with a grand total of 76 minutes, the striker has failed to score in all of his outings since joining permanently, but Wimbledon believe he should have enough quality to make a positive difference to their League One campaign.
At just 23-years old, there is still plenty of time for Stewart to find stronger goalscoring form, but his time abroad hasn't been particularly productive.
Having joined Thun on loan this time last season, when they were still a second division club, he found the net four times in 15 apperances, performing well enough for them to bring him in on a permanent deal upon their promotion to the first tier.
It hasn't worked out since though, and Wimbledon now want to bring him back to England.

A product of the Liverpool academy, Stewart made a single professional appearance for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp, a game against Derby County in the EFL Cup back in 2022.
Prolific in the Premier League 2, he earned a move to Preston in 2024, though he failed to score for the Lilywhites before being moved on.
The Dons sit just one point clear of the relegation zone in League One and have one of the lowest goal-scoring records in the division this season, so will be looking to bring in all the firepower they can in the dying hours of the transfer window.
